Daniel Castro (b. 1985, Metairie, La.): In 2012, Castro received a Master’s of fine arts from the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where he was a Dean’s Graduate Fellow in Fiction, won the Schupes Prize for Excellence in Fiction and served on the editorial board of the Iowa Review. In 2012, he won the Novella Prize from the Faulkner Society.  Castro has written fiction and journalism for the Tampa Review, The Miami Herald and Gambit Weekly. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 2007 and studied in Spain under a Fulbright grant immediately after. (Cintas for literature, 2013-14)
