Leaving a Lasting Legacy: CINTAS Foundation Endowment Funding Opportunities
Over the course of six decades, the CINTAS Foundation has quietly granted its fellowships and its prestigious recognition to Cuban artists. More than 325 fellowships in the fields of architecture, creative writing, music composition and the visual arts have been granted since 1963. Many of these fellows have gone on to receive national and international honors and recognition and are exhibited in major museums and private collections all over the world.
In addition, the CINTAS Fellows Collection, comprised of gifts made by the Fellows to the Foundation, is believed to be the largest collection of Cuban art outside Cuba. Through the vision of Dr. Eduardo Padrón and the MDC Board of Trustees, the collection is housed at the MDC Museum of Art & Design at historical Freedom Tower.
On the occasion of its 50th Jubilee, the CINTAS Foundation hopes to increase its support of artists through endowments, grants and other contributions, in order to increase all the fellowships to annual frequency and to showcase the work of its fellows through exhibitions, symposia and publications. The Foundation will also continue conserving and protecting the artwork in its collections.
The CINTAS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) foundation that awards fellowships to creative artists of of Cuban citizenship or Cuban lineage.
The endowments would offer the donor permanent association with an internationally recognized, independently managed institution, the opportunity to support worthy artists, and the satisfaction of having made a material difference in the world of Cuban art and humanities.
